The place for all your outdoor living space!
The Fairway railing collection from Envision Outdoor Living Products has been the go-to system for deck and porch contractors for more than 20 years. Its breadth is the appeal and the challenge: aluminum, composite, steel, vinyl, and cellular PVC each require different panel configurations, post sleeve sizes, and infill hardware. Ordering across material categories without a structured material list is where most projects run into trouble.
Our Envision Fairway railing calculator organizes that complexity into four steps. You enter your deck perimeter, choose your Fairway material and style category, indicate whether stairs are part of the project, and submit a contact email. A complete material breakdown lands in your inbox covering panel count, post quantity, infill components, and any stair-specific hardware. The envision fairway railing estimator accounts for how Fairway actually packages its products – by panel length and style category, not by a single generic linear foot formula.
Fairway simplifies the selection process with three decision points: railing style (Modern, Designer, or Traditional), material, and infill. This calculator mirrors that logic, walking you through the same three decisions before generating your component list. Whether you’re speccing an A210 Designer Aluminum system with FastFit panels or a V310 TimberLux wood-grain vinyl on a porch, the tool handles both ends of the catalog.
Measure Your Deck Perimeter
Your railing run is a perimeter measurement, not a square footage figure. Enter length and width and the tool calculates linear footage across three open sides. Non-standard layouts get a custom override field.
Select Material & Fairway Model
Aluminum, steel, composite, vinyl, and cellular PVC all carry different panel formats and hardware kits. Picking the right model – A210, CP315, V310 – ensures your component list reflects the actual product you’re ordering.
Add Stair Sections If Needed
Fairway stair kits are angled assemblies distinct from level-run panels. Enter your step count and tread width and they generate as a separate line item in your breakdown so nothing gets merged into the deck total.
Receive Your Component List
After you enter your email, a full Envision Fairway material breakdown arrives immediately: panel count, post quantity, infill components, hardware kits, pricing tier, and stair railing if applicable.
Designer Aluminum
Fairway’s aluminum systems anchor the top of the performance range. The A210 features a dual-piece top rail built for in-rail LED lighting integration and ships in three finishes: Textured Black, Textured Bronze, and Matte White. Six infill options are available, including the new Drink Rail Adapter Kit. The A310 is a slimmer, more modern profile with three color choices and five infill options. Both models are available in FastFit pre-assembled panel format, which cuts on-site installation time significantly. Aluminum railing performs consistently across severe temperature swings that would cause composite or vinyl to expand and contract noticeably.
Modern Steel
The S110 is the only steel railing option in the Fairway lineup and one of the few steel deck railing systems sold through the building products channel. Pre-welded, fully assembled panels mean each section arrives ready to mount – no field welding, no component assembly. The powder-coated finish is available in two colors: Black Sand and Antique Bronze. Steel carries a visual weight that aluminum and composite can’t replicate, making it a strong pick for projects where a heavier, more architectural look is the goal. Square baluster panels are the infill format.
Designer & Traditional Composite
Fairway’s composite railing systems use a larger rail profile than most competing brands, which gives them more visual presence on the deck and enhances privacy by reducing sightlines at the baluster level. Both the CP310 and CP315 feature a dual-piece top rail that accepts in-rail LED lighting. CP310 is the standard Designer Composite model, available in two colors with four infill options. CP315 adds a drink rail surface to the top rail profile. Neither system requires painting, staining, or sealing – composite construction resists twisting, rotting, and splintering regardless of weather exposure.
Vinyl & TimberLux Vinyl
Fairway offers the widest vinyl railing range in the catalog – five models covering Modern, Traditional, and an entirely unique wood-grain category. V110 is a classic Traditional profile in three colors with four infill choices. V210 is a 2.25-inch Modern-style top rail in three colors with five infill options including cable and horizontal baluster. V215 adds a drink rail to the V210 profile. V220 spans six infill options for maximum design range. V310 is the standout: the industry’s only wood-grain vinyl railing, available in Native Chestnut and Silver Birch with variegated color finishes that genuinely mimic natural wood species. All vinyl models include an aluminum core in the top and bottom rails for structural rigidity without added weight.
Cellular PVC
The P310 cellular PVC railing fills a specific gap between standard vinyl and composite: it offers a higher degree of customization than vinyl (the matte white finish can be painted to any exterior color) while maintaining the lightweight, easy-handling characteristics that vinyl contractors prefer over heavier composite systems. The two-piece top rail design accepts in-rail LED lighting, same as the A210 and CP310. Six infill options are available. P310 is positioned as the premium vinyl tier – it uses cellular PVC rather than standard extruded vinyl, which delivers better dimensional stability and a more consistent matte finish surface.
A210 Designer Aluminum
Dual-piece top rail optimized for in-rail LED lighting. Three finishes – Textured Black, Textured Bronze, Matte White – with six infill options. FastFit pre-assembled panels available. Drink Rail Adapter Kit included as an add-on option.
A310 Designer Aluminum
Sleeker, more minimal aluminum profile than the A210. Three color options and five infill configurations. Mounts in multiple orientations for both deck and porch applications. FastFit panel format available.
S110 Modern Steel
Fully assembled steel panels in Black Sand and Antique Bronze. The only steel railing in the Fairway catalog. Powder-coated for all-weather durability with no corrosion concerns. Square baluster panel format only.
CP310 Composite
Larger-profile composite with a dual-piece top rail for LED lighting. Available in Black and White with four contemporary infill options. No painting, staining, or sealing required at any point in the product’s life.
CP315 Composite + Drink Rail
The CP310 profile with a drink rail integrated into the top rail surface. Same two colors and four infill options. The drink rail feature pairs naturally with outdoor kitchen and entertainment deck configurations.
V110 Traditional Vinyl
The foundational Fairway vinyl option. Classic proportions with an aluminum core in the top and bottom rails. Three colors, four infill choices. Available in both standard and FastFit panel formats. Square vinyl, round aluminum, and black baluster options.
V210 Modern Vinyl
A slimmer, contemporary 2.25-inch top and bottom rail profile. Three colors and five infill options including cable and horizontal baluster. Budget-friendly without sacrificing clean sightlines or low-maintenance performance.
V215 Modern Vinyl + Drink Rail
The V210 profile with a drink rail added to the top rail. Three color choices and four infill options. Shares the same 2.25-inch modern profile and aluminum core construction as the V210 base model.
V220 Vinyl
Fairway’s most infill-flexible vinyl model with six options. Three colors accommodate a wide range of home exterior palettes. Aluminum core rails provide noise reduction and structural rigidity that standard extruded vinyl lacks.
V310 TimberLux Vinyl
The only wood-grain vinyl deck railing on the market. Two variegated color finishes – Native Chestnut (rich earthy brown) and Silver Birch (warm aged grey) – genuinely mimic natural wood species. Three infill options including cable and horizontal baluster. Combines wood aesthetics with vinyl durability and zero-maintenance upkeep.
P310 Cellular PVC
Paintable matte white cellular PVC with a dual-piece top rail for in-rail LED lighting. Six infill options – the widest in the vinyl/PVC category. More dimensionally stable than standard vinyl. Suits projects where a custom paint color is required to match siding or trim.
Perimeter Run, Not Deck Square Footage
Railing is priced and ordered by the linear foot. A 16×20 deck typically requires railing across three sides: two 20-foot runs and one 16-foot end, totaling 56 linear feet before deducting stair openings. Square footage is irrelevant to this calculation – it tells you how much decking you need, not how much railing. The calculator derives your perimeter automatically from your dimensions, or lets you enter a custom run for irregular layouts.
FastFit vs. Standard Panel Format
Several Fairway aluminum and vinyl models are available in both standard kits and FastFit pre-assembled panel formats. FastFit panels arrive pre-built and mount directly to posts, cutting on-site assembly time significantly. Standard kits require field assembly but offer more flexibility on custom lengths and corner configurations. The calculator handles both formats – make sure you know which your installer prefers before finalizing your selection.
Infill Choice Drives a Completely Different Component List
Selecting cable infill versus square baluster versus glass slat versus horizontal baluster generates an entirely different set of SKUs. Cable requires per-run footage and end hardware fittings. Glass slat needs panel count and specific frame components. Baluster infill is counted by spacing. The calculator accounts for infill type when building your list, so a cable run and a baluster run on the same model produce different outputs.
Stair Kits Are a Distinct Product Category
Fairway stair sections are not the same product as line sections – they use angled brackets and different hardware positioning to accommodate standard residential stair pitches. If you’re running CitySide aluminum on the deck and need stair railing, CitySide has no stair-rated kit; you’ll need a compatible composite or vinyl stair option. The calculator flags this and separates your stair line items so the count is always visible, never lumped into the deck total.
Post Accessories Are Always Ordered Separately
No Fairway kit – aluminum, composite, vinyl, or PVC – ships with posts included. Post sleeves, post caps, post trim rings, and mounting hardware are separate SKUs. Composite post sleeves are 4×4 in and available in multiple heights. Vinyl blank post sleeves and FastFit post sleeves have different sizing requirements. The calculator generates your post count as a distinct line item so you can add post accessories to your order without going back and recounting panels.
In-Rail Lighting Requires a Specific Top Rail Format
Not every Fairway model supports in-rail LED lighting. The A210 aluminum and CP310/CP315 composite systems both feature a dual-piece top rail designed to house lighting components. V310 TimberLux and P310 cellular PVC also support this feature. Standard vinyl models (V110, V210, V215, V220) do not. If LED lighting integration is part of your deck design, confirm your collection choice supports it before placing a material order.
Envision Outdoor Living Products is the manufacturer. Fairway is the brand name for their complete railing collection. When someone says “Envision railing” or “Fairway railing,” they’re referring to the same product line. The full system is sometimes described as “Envision Fairway railing” to make clear that it’s Envision’s railing product rather than their decking line. Our calculator covers the entire current Fairway catalog across all five material categories.
Three things stand out. First, breadth: Fairway offers five material categories (aluminum, steel, composite, vinyl, cellular PVC) under one system with consistent post sleeve sizing and accessory compatibility. Second, the V310 TimberLux is the only wood-grain vinyl deck railing on the market. Third, the FastFit pre-assembled panel format is available across multiple material types, not just aluminum – which gives contractors a faster install option regardless of what material the customer chooses.
In most cases, yes – with one important caveat. Post sleeves across the Fairway composite, vinyl, and PVC lines use 4×4 composite or vinyl sleeve sizing that is compatible across those categories. Aluminum models use a different post configuration. Steel panels use pre-welded post brackets specific to the S110. If you’re mixing materials – for example, aluminum on the main deck run and composite on stairs – confirm post compatibility before ordering. Our team can advise on mixed configurations when you receive your emailed estimate.
Yes. Cable infill is available on several Fairway models including the V210 Modern Vinyl, V220 Vinyl, V310 TimberLux Vinyl, Traditional Composite (per 2025 product updates), and P310 Cellular PVC. Cable is not available on the S110 Modern Steel, which uses square baluster panels exclusively. The A210 and A310 aluminum systems include cable as one of their six and five infill options respectively. If cable is your priority, the aluminum or vinyl models give you the most route options.
Most Fairway panel kits are available in both 36-inch and 42-inch heights. The 36-inch height satisfies standard residential deck railing code requirements for decks up to 30 inches above grade. Many jurisdictions require 42 inches for elevated decks – check with your local building department before specifying height. Post sleeve heights vary by style: 4×4 composite and vinyl post sleeves are available in 39-inch, 45-inch, and 108-inch lengths to accommodate both heights and extended post applications.
Yes. Envision backs the Fairway railing collection with a limited warranty on residential installations. Warranty terms vary slightly by material category – composite and aluminum carry different coverage periods than vinyl. All materials are designed to perform without painting, staining, or sealing. For current warranty details specific to the model you’re ordering, visit envisionoutdoorliving.com or ask our team when you receive your emailed estimate. We can pull the warranty documentation for any Fairway model in the catalog.
