Beautiful outdoor living, built for life - that's Fiberon!

Tell us your deck size, pick a Fiberon collection, and we’ll generate a complete material list: sections, posts, balusters, hardware, and stair railing.
Delivered straight to your inbox in under 60 seconds

Fiberon keeps its railing lineup intentionally focused: four collections, two material categories, and a 25-year limited performance warranty on every system. That focus makes it easier to choose, but it also means the details matter. The difference between ordering the right amount of material and showing up short on install day comes down to knowing your linear footage, your baluster count, and whether your stair configuration uses a standard or custom-pitch kit.

Our Fiberon Railing Calculator walks you through each of those variables. You enter your deck footprint, select your Fiberon collection (CountrySide, Brio, CitySide, or ArmorGuard), choose your infill style, and indicate whether you have stairs. The fiberon railing estimator does the component math and sends a full, itemized breakdown to your inbox. Bring it to your dealer, hand it to your contractor, or use it as your ordering reference.

Fiberon’s kits ship with top and bottom rails, balusters, crush blocks, and mounting hardware included. Posts are sold separately. The calculator accounts for this structure so your estimate reflects how Fiberon’s products actually package, not a generic per-foot average that leaves out half the parts.

How the Fiberon Railing Calculator Works

Each step narrows the material list to match your actual project. No approximations carried over from one field to the next.

1

Enter Deck Dimensions

Length and width determine your open perimeter. The tool calculates railing footage across three sides automatically. An override field handles L-shaped, angled, or other non-rectangular configurations.

2

Choose Material & Collection

Composite (CountrySide, Brio, or ArmorGuard) and aluminum (CitySide) carry completely different kit contents. Picking the right one ensures the component list reflects your actual order, not a generic template.

3

Configure Stair Railing

Fiberon stair kits differ from line section kits in bracket angle, baluster count, and hardware. Enter your step count and tread width for a separate stair line item in your emailed breakdown.

4

Receive Your Material List

After you submit a valid email, a full itemized breakdown arrives instantly. Section counts, post quantities, baluster totals, hardware kits, and pricing tier included.

Fiberon Railing Materials – What This Estimator Covers

Fiberon divides its railing lineup between composite and aluminum. The two categories look different, install differently, and suit different design goals.
Knowing which fits your project before you calculate prevents the most common material planning errors.

Composite Railing

Fiberon’s composite railing systems are built from low-maintenance PVC composite material. They don’t require painting, staining, or sealing at any point. Kits ship as complete section packages: top and bottom rails, balusters, crush blocks, and mounting hardware are all included. Posts are sold separately, which the calculator accounts for in your post count. All three composite collections carry a 25-year limited performance warranty for residential installations.

Aluminum Railing

CitySide is Fiberon’s sole aluminum railing offering. It uses a powder-coated finish that resists corrosion without periodic recoating and handles temperature swings better than composite. Pre-welded post bracket designs significantly cut installation time. Two top rail profiles are available: a sculpted classic option and a contemporary flat-top. CitySide sections are available in 6 ft and 8 ft nominal lengths at both 36 in and 42 in heights. The aluminum format is not rated for stair use under Fiberon’s current installation guidelines.

Fiberon Railing Collections the Calculator Covers

Each collection below has a distinct design character, infill option set, and use case.
The calculator generates a different material count for each one because kit contents and post configurations are not interchangeable across collections.

CountrySide

Fiberon’s most structurally refined composite option. A sub-rail runs beneath the top rail for added stiffness without adding visible bulk. The sculpted top rail profile gives it a formal, finished look that pairs with both classic and transitional deck board styles. Compatible with the ADA handrail system via special order.

Brio

Brio’s defining feature is its flat top rail, which functions as a drink ledge during outdoor gatherings. Built from PVC composite with a satin finish, it won’t need staining or sealing. Rails are pre-routed to accept either square composite or round matte black aluminum balusters. Kits include all rail components and hardware; posts are sold separately.

ArmorGuard

ArmorGuard is built for accessibility, stocked at The Home Depot through standard and special-order programs nationwide. Three profile options are available: Regency, Classic, and Deluxe. All are finished in white. White square composite balusters are standard. For homeowners who want Fiberon’s 25-year warranty coverage and a quick local pickup, ArmorGuard is the practical path.

CitySide

CitySide delivers the kind of minimal visual profile that keeps the focus on what’s beyond the deck rather than the railing itself. Pre-welded post brackets attach directly, reducing on-site assembly steps. Choose between a sculpted traditional top rail or a flat contemporary one. The powder-coated aluminum will not rust or corrode, and holds up through wide temperature swings without expansion issues that can affect composite in extreme climates.

Five Things That Affect Your Fiberon Railing Material Count

The fiberon railing calculator handles the arithmetic, but you get a more accurate output when you understand the inputs. These five variables shape every estimate the tool produces.

1

Linear Footage Drives Everything

Railing is ordered by the linear foot, not by deck area. A 16×20 deck typically needs railing across three sides: two 20-foot sides and one 16-foot end, totaling 56 linear feet before accounting for stair openings. The calculator auto-derives this from your dimensions. If your layout has angles, wrap-around sections, or a gate opening, switch to the custom length field for a more accurate run.

2

Baluster Style Changes Your Order Entirely

Fiberon’s composite railing sections come in 6 ft and 8 ft nominal lengths (67 in and 91 in actual). A 56-foot railing run takes a different number of 6 ft sections versus 8 ft sections, and the mix affects both your baluster count per section and your post spacing. The calculator estimates kit count based on standard 8 ft sections and flags where shorter sections fill out the remainder.

3

Baluster Style Changes Your Order Entirely

Fiberon’s composite collections offer two infill choices: square composite balusters or round black metal balusters. Both are available for CountrySide and Brio. ArmorGuard uses white composite balusters only. CitySide aluminum sections come with balusters included in the section kit. Choosing between composite and metal balusters is not just an aesthetic call; it changes which SKUs you order and how Fiberon packages the kits.

4

Stair Kits Are Not Interchangeable With Line Kits

Fiberon stair kits are angled to match standard residential stair pitches. They include the same rail and baluster components as line kits but with different brackets and crush block positioning. CitySide aluminum is not rated for stair use. If you have stairs on a CitySide project, a composite stair kit from a compatible collection is required. The calculator captures this and builds your stair components as a separate line item.

5

Posts Are Always Sold Separately

Fiberon’s railing kits do not include posts. Post sleeves are sold separately and must be ordered based on your post spacing, height, and whether you need a surface-mount or fascia-mount configuration. The calculator flags your post count so you can order post sleeves, post caps, and any required mounting hardware as separate line items. Forgetting posts is one of the most common Fiberon ordering oversights. The fiberon railing estimator makes sure they stay visible in your breakdown.

Frequently Asked Questions

These are the questions we hear most often from homeowners and contractors pricing a Fiberon railing project for the first time.

What is the difference between Fiberon CountrySide and Brio railing?

Both are composite systems available in the same three colors (Tranquil White, Simply Brown, Serene Black) with the same baluster options. The key difference is the top rail profile. CountrySide uses a sculpted top rail with sub-rail reinforcement for a traditional, sturdier feel. Brio uses a flat top rail, which doubles as a drink ledge and suits a more casual, contemporary deck aesthetic. Both carry a 25-year limited performance warranty and are not interchangeable in terms of rail dimensions.

Can I use Fiberon CitySide aluminum railing on stairs?

No. Fiberon CitySide aluminum railing is not approved or designed for stair applications under current Fiberon installation guidelines. If your project includes stairs, you’ll need to spec a composite collection for that portion. CountrySide, Brio, and ArmorGuard all include stair kits in 6 ft and 8 ft nominal lengths for 36 in and 42 in heights. The fiberon railing calculator handles this split automatically when you include stairs in Step 3.

Does Fiberon railing come with posts included?

No. Fiberon railing sections, whether composite or aluminum, are sold without posts. Post sleeves, post caps, and mounting hardware are purchased separately. Composite post sleeves are 4 x 4 in and coordinate with CountrySide and Brio colors in 39 in, 45 in, and 108 in heights. CitySide aluminum posts include welded bracket hardware. The calculator flags your required post count in the emailed breakdown so they don’t get missed at the order stage.

Where can I buy Fiberon ArmorGuard railing?

ArmorGuard is the only Fiberon railing collection stocked at The Home Depot through both standard stocking programs and special-order. The other three collections (CountrySide, Brio, CitySide) are available through authorized Fiberon dealers like Premium Decking Supply. If you need ArmorGuard, call us at (815) 439-3325 and we can confirm local availability or assist with a special-order through the channel that works best for your project timeline.

What warranty covers Fiberon railing?

All four Fiberon railing collections are backed by a 25-year limited performance warranty for residential installations. The warranty covers structural defects and, depending on the collection, fade and stain performance. Neither composite nor aluminum railing requires painting or staining to maintain warranty coverage. Cleaning with soap, water, or approved household cleaners like Fantastik or Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is all that’s needed for ongoing maintenance.

How many balusters does a Fiberon 6 ft section include?

A standard Fiberon 6 ft line kit includes 14 balusters. An 8 ft line kit includes 20 balusters. The same baluster counts apply to stair kits of the same nominal lengths. This applies to both CountrySide and Brio. ArmorGuard baluster counts vary slightly by profile. CitySide aluminum sections include balusters within the section assembly. The fiberon railing estimator uses these standard counts to generate your total baluster quantity.
