What Are the Grades of TimberTech Decking?

Understanding the different grades of TimberTech decking can help you find the right combination of style, performance, and price for your outdoor living space.

TimberTech offers two main types of decking: Composite Decking and Advanced PVC Decking. Each is available in several collections with distinctive wood-grain patterns, color variations, board profiles, and design characteristics.

From the budget-friendly painted-wood appearance of TimberTech Prime to the luxurious exotic hardwood finishes of TimberTech Vintage, there’s a collection for nearly every design preference and budget.

In this guide, we’ll explore 13 TimberTech decking collections, starting with affordable composite options and progressing toward the highest-end Advanced PVC products.

1. TimberTech Prime – Affordable Painted Wood (Composite)

The TimberTech Prime Collection is one of TimberTech’s most affordable decking options, providing a practical entry point for homeowners who want the benefits of composite decking without the higher cost of premium collections. Prime features a classic painted-wood appearance with consistent colors and a straightforward wood-grain pattern. Its traditional styling complements a variety of home exteriors and backyard designs.

One of its defining characteristics is its scalloped board profile, which features grooves along the underside to reduce material usage and board weight. Despite its accessible price, Prime offers the low-maintenance benefits of capped composite decking, including resistance to fading, staining, and moisture exposure.

For homeowners seeking an economical alternative to traditional wood decking, TimberTech Prime is an excellent starting point.

Available Colors: Dark Teak and Maritime Gray.

2. TimberTech Premier – Affordable Solid Painted Wood (Composite)

The TimberTech Premier Collection offers a classic painted-wood aesthetic similar to TimberTech Prime, but with one important construction difference. While Prime features a scalloped underside, Premier uses a full-profile composite board, creating a solid board design.

Its straight wood-grain texture and consistent color palette resemble traditionally stained or painted lumber, making it suitable for homeowners who appreciate a clean, timeless appearance. Premier combines this familiar styling with protective polymer capping that helps resist stains, fading, and moisture-related wear.

Among the more affordable grades of TimberTech decking, Premier is a practical choice for homeowners who prefer a solid-profile composite board without stretching their project budget.

Available Colors: Maritime Gray and Dark Teak.

3. TimberTech Prime+ – Affordable Timeless Wood Grain (Composite)

The TimberTech Prime+ Collection builds on TimberTech’s entry-level composite offerings by introducing more natural-looking wood-grain patterns and blended colors. Unlike the more consistent painted-wood finish of Prime, Prime+ features subtle color variation and a straight-grain appearance inspired by traditionally sawn lumber.

Its moderately blended tones create a warmer, more realistic wood appearance without the pronounced streaking found in higher-end composite collections. Prime+ maintains the lightweight scalloped board profile of the original Prime Collection, providing an affordable alternative to traditional wood decking.

For homeowners who want enhanced wood aesthetics at a budget-friendly price, Prime+ offers an attractive balance of appearance, durability, and value.

Available Colors: Coconut Husk, Dark Cocoa, and Sea Salt Gray.

4. TimberTech Premier+ – Straight-Grained Hardwoods (Composite)

The TimberTech Premier+ Collection introduces a more refined hardwood appearance to TimberTech’s accessible composite decking lineup. Inspired by quartersawn hardwood lumber, Premier+ features a distinctive straight-grain texture with subtle color variation.

Unlike the painted-wood styling of Premier, Premier+ emphasizes the natural warmth and character of hardwood, with soft tonal changes that create an elegant and timeless appearance. Its polymer-capped composite construction provides low-maintenance performance and resistance to common outdoor wear.

For homeowners comparing the grades of TimberTech decking by appearance, Premier+ offers clean architectural lines, realistic hardwood textures, and understated color blending at an accessible price.

Available Color: Natural Oak.

5. TimberTech Terrain – Traditional Rugged Cathedral Grain (Composite)

The TimberTech Terrain Collection offers a traditional wood-inspired appearance with a distinctive rugged cathedral grain pattern. Its textured surface captures the familiar character of natural lumber, while subtle color blending adds depth and dimension to the boards.

Compared with TimberTech’s more basic composite options, Terrain provides a more pronounced wood-grain appearance that creates additional visual interest across the deck surface. The collection features protective polymer capping designed to resist fading, staining, and moisture-related deterioration while requiring significantly less maintenance than traditional wood.

For homeowners seeking a balance of natural aesthetics, durability, and affordability, TimberTech Terrain is a versatile midrange decking option.

Available Colors: Brown Oak and Silver Maple.

6. TimberTech Terrain+ – Refined Subtle Wood Grain (Composite)

The TimberTech Terrain+ Collection offers a more refined hardwood-inspired appearance with sophisticated color blending and subtle grain detailing. Inspired by naturally sanded hardwoods such as white oak and walnut, Terrain+ features soft, realistic grain patterns and contemporary colors.

Compared with the more rugged texture of Terrain, Terrain+ emphasizes a smoother visual appearance with understated highlights and lowlights. Its composite construction combines reclaimed wood fibers and polymers with a protective cap designed to withstand everyday outdoor conditions.

When comparing the grades of TimberTech decking in the midrange category, Terrain+ offers a compelling combination of realistic hardwood appearance, durability, and approachable pricing.

Available Colors: Dark Oak, Natural White Oak, and Weathered Oak.

7. TimberTech Reserve – Premium Reclaimed Wood (Composite)

The TimberTech Reserve Collection introduces a premium composite decking experience inspired by the natural character of reclaimed wood. Designed to resemble weathered hardwood lumber, Reserve features pronounced grain textures, rich color variations, and an inviting rustic appearance.

Its reclaimed-wood styling incorporates contrasting highlights and lowlights that create depth and visual interest across the boards. Unlike the more uniform grain patterns found in affordable composite collections, Reserve embraces the distinctive appearance of naturally aged timber.

The collection is especially appealing for rustic outdoor spaces, farmhouse-inspired decks, and homeowners who appreciate the character of reclaimed hardwood without ongoing sanding or staining.

Available Colors: Antique Leather, Dark Roast, Driftwood, and Reclaimed Chestnut.

8. TimberTech Legacy – Premium Hand-Scraped Hardwoods (Composite)

The TimberTech Legacy Collection is one of TimberTech’s most luxurious composite decking options, recognized for its distinctive hand-scraped surface and sophisticated hardwood-inspired appearance. Designed to resemble artisan-finished hardwood flooring, Legacy features pronounced grain patterns and complex color blending that give individual boards unique character.

The hand-scraped texture creates visual depth, while the carefully blended tones capture the richness of premium hardwood species. Unlike Reserve, which emphasizes rugged reclaimed wood, Legacy focuses on elegant, hand-scraped hardwood aesthetics.

Its capped composite construction provides the low-maintenance benefits of modern decking without sacrificing the beauty of natural wood. When exploring the premium composite grades of TimberTech decking, Legacy stands out with its sophisticated hand-scraped finish, rich color variations, and realistic hardwood appearance.

Available Colors: Ashwood, Espresso, Mocha, Pecan, Tigerwood, and Whitewash Cedar.

9. TimberTech Porch – Specialty Hardwood Flooring (Advanced PVC)

The TimberTech Porch Collection is a specialized Advanced PVC flooring option designed to recreate the appearance of traditional hardwood porches. Unlike conventional deck boards, TimberTech Porch features a tongue-and-groove profile that creates a tighter, more continuous flooring appearance.

Its collection of hardwood-inspired and painted-wood colors offers design flexibility for classic front porches and other appropriate porch applications. Manufactured from wood-free polymers, TimberTech Porch provides excellent moisture resistance and eliminates the need for regular staining, sanding, or sealing.

Although Porch belongs to the Advanced PVC family, it is a specialty flooring product rather than a direct quality grade between traditional deck-board collections.

Available Colors: Coastline, Cypress, Dark Hickory, English Walnut, Mahogany, Oyster, Slate Gray, and Weathered Teak.

10. TimberTech Harvest – Classic Refined Cathedral Grain (Advanced PVC)

The TimberTech Harvest Collection introduces the classic styling and moisture-resistant benefits of TimberTech Advanced PVC decking. One of the key differences between the grades of TimberTech decking is material construction: composite decking combines wood fibers and polymers, while Advanced PVC uses wood-free polymers for enhanced moisture resistance.

The Harvest Collection features a refined cathedral wood-grain pattern with consistent, stained-wood-inspired colors that complement traditional and contemporary home exteriors. Compared with TimberTech’s more luxurious PVC collections, Harvest emphasizes a simpler, timeless appearance without dramatic color variation or heavily textured finishes.

Its wood-free construction provides excellent resistance to moisture, rot, and splintering, making it suitable for a variety of outdoor applications. For homeowners interested in the benefits of Advanced PVC without moving into the highest-priced collections, Harvest provides an attractive option.

Available Colors: Brownstone, Kona, and Slate Gray.

11. TimberTech Harvest+ – Premium Understated Cathedral Grain (Advanced PVC)

The TimberTech Harvest+ Collection offers an elevated hardwood-inspired appearance with the moisture-resistant performance of Advanced PVC decking. Inspired by gently worn hardwoods, Harvest+ features understated cathedral grain patterns, delicate tonal variations, and a naturally aged appearance.

Unlike the more consistent colors of Harvest, this collection incorporates subtle highlights and lowlights that create the character of weathered hardwood. Its refined texture and sophisticated color palette make it suitable for a wide range of outdoor designs, from modern spaces to traditional backyard retreats.

With its wood-free polymer construction and low-maintenance surface, Harvest+ combines an inviting hardwood appearance with the practical benefits of Advanced PVC.

Available Colors: Timber Gray and Toasted Wheat.

12. TimberTech Landmark – Luxury Crosscut Hardwoods (Advanced PVC)

The TimberTech Landmark Collection is one of TimberTech’s luxury Advanced PVC decking options, designed to capture the distinctive appearance of crosscut hardwoods. Inspired by species such as white oak and walnut, Landmark features dramatic cathedral grain patterns, cascading color variation, and a richly textured finish.

Its distinctive surface resembles the character of reclaimed or naturally aged hardwood, creating a bold and authentic appearance. Unlike Harvest and Harvest+, which emphasize softer wood-grain patterns, Landmark features stronger visual contrast and a more pronounced wood texture.

Its wood-free Advanced PVC construction provides excellent moisture resistance while reducing the maintenance associated with traditional hardwood decking. Among the luxury grades of TimberTech decking, Landmark is particularly appealing to homeowners who appreciate bold crosscut hardwood textures, dramatic color variation, and distinctive natural wood character.

Available Colors: American Walnut, Boardwalk, Castle Gate, and French White Oak.

13. TimberTech Vintage – Luxury Exotic Hardwoods (Advanced PVC)

The TimberTech Vintage Collection represents the pinnacle of TimberTech’s luxury decking lineup, combining the exceptional beauty of exotic hardwoods with the advanced performance of wood-free PVC decking. Designed to replicate sought-after hardwood species such as ipe, mahogany, and teak, Vintage features sophisticated color blending, rich natural tones, and an elegant wire-brushed finish.

Its refined surface incorporates realistic highlights and lowlights that create the depth and character of genuine exotic hardwood lumber. Unlike traditional composite decking, Vintage is manufactured entirely from high-performance polymers without wood fibers, offering exceptional resistance to moisture, rot, and splintering.

Another defining feature is its availability in multiple board widths, allowing homeowners and designers to create sophisticated layouts and unique deck patterns. For homeowners looking for the most luxurious TimberTech decking collection, Vintage delivers premium exotic hardwood aesthetics, outstanding moisture resistance, and long-lasting low-maintenance performance.

Available Colors: Coastline, Cypress, Dark Hickory, English Walnut, Mahogany, and Weathered Teak.

Which TimberTech Decking Collection Is Best?

When comparing the grades of TimberTech decking, the best choice depends on your budget, preferred wood appearance, and specific project requirements. For affordable composite decking, Prime, Premier, and Prime+ provide classic wood-inspired aesthetics, while Premier+ introduces a more refined hardwood appearance.

Homeowners looking for a balance of cost and natural wood styling can consider Terrain and Terrain+, which feature distinctive wood-grain patterns and realistic colors. For premium composite decking, Reserve and Legacy offer more sophisticated hardwood finishes, including reclaimed-wood styling and hand-scraped textures.

If you prefer wood-free decking, TimberTech’s Advanced PVC lineup offers several options. Harvest provides a classic stained-wood look, while Harvest+ introduces more refined color variation. At the luxury end, Landmark captures the character of crosscut hardwoods, while Vintage features premium exotic hardwood-inspired finishes and flexible board-width options.

TimberTech Porch offers a separate tongue-and-groove solution for traditional porch-flooring applications. Although these collections can be compared by material, appearance, and relative price, TimberTech does not organize all 13 into one official linear grade ranking. Collections within the same price tier may offer different aesthetics and board constructions.
